I got my start in digital capture at Dtouch, helping them establish their New York operation. I took a room of unorganized cables and equipment and turned it into a production ready operation providing digital capture services to some of the most successful photographers in the world, including: Mert and Marcus, Mario Testino, Mikael Jansson, Jenny Gage and Tom Betterton, and Camilla Akrans.
After leaving Dtouch I created and managed a digital capture department for Primary Photographic. While there I ordered, configured and maintained equipment capable of self-sufficient location setups in Mexico and 12-day catalog shoots in New York. I installed and configured an automated server-based backup supporting our digital capture and retouching departments. I was also responsible for general IT solutions and the asset management system.
I managed the digital department at Splashlight Studios. While there I specialized in creating very high volume work flows to support up to seventeen simultaneous shoots for clients like Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Ann Taylor and Nordstrom. I cultivated a wiki system with RSS feeds and an instant message server to distribute information and shoot standards. Additionally the IT director and I worked closely to support our clients and internal needs.
Most recently I’ve been working as a self employed Digital Capture Technician providing beginning to end service, equipment and my onset expertise. I've also provided technical knowledge to a major photography equipment rental house in New York City and several small "boutique" digital capture agencies.
In total, I’ve helped establish or reestablish five digital capture departments in New York. I can source and configure every camera, software application, cable, and computer your company will need. I also have a talented pool of freelancers at my disposal.
